The SL-E302 is a 130 × 25 cm cylindrical waterproof gun bag built for carrying a long gun through wet ground rather than storing it in a vehicle. At 1.35 kg it weighs roughly a quarter of a rigid case of the same length, and it rolls flat to a fraction of that case's volume when empty.
The body is cut from 840D TPU-laminated fabric and closed with RF welded seams, so there are no needle perforations anywhere in the shell. The opening folds down three times and clips with POM side-release buckles, giving a seal that tightens progressively and an internal length that adjusts to the firearm being carried.
With a 25 cm internal diameter and 130 cm length, it accepts bolt-action, hunting, tactical, and air rifles as well as shotguns up to 50 inches overall — with room remaining for the roll folds.

Most gun bags on the market are built for storage inside a vehicle or a gun safe. A waterproof gun bag intended to be carried has to answer a different set of numbers — weight over distance, packed volume, and how it behaves once it is wet.
| Factor | SL-E302 | Typical Hard Case (130 cm) |
| Net weight | 1.35 kg | 4–5 kg |
| Empty storage volume | Rolls flat | Fixed, full volume retained |
| Shipping volume per unit | 0.0338 m³ | Substantially higher |
| Seam construction | RF welded, no perforations | N/A (moulded shell) |
| Closure | 3-fold roll-top, adjustable length | Fixed-length latched lid |
| Carry modes | 3 (hand / shoulder / backpack) | 1 (hand) |
| Cleaning | Wipe or rinse TPU surface | Wipe only |
The weight figure is the one that decides whether protection actually gets carried. A hunter walking several kilometres to a stand will leave a 4 kg case in the vehicle; at 1.35 kg the bag goes with them, which is the difference between a firearm that is protected and one that is not.
A sewn waterproof gun bag is perforated thousands of times along every seam, and relies on tape to cover those holes. Tape is bonded with adhesive, and adhesive ages under heat cycling, UV, flexing, and washing — when it lifts, the perforations underneath are exactly as open as the day they were made.
The SL-E302 shell is joined by radio-frequency welding, which fuses the TPU layers of two panels into a single continuous section of material. There are no perforations to cover, and therefore no secondary layer that can fail with age.
- 840D TPU-laminated fabric selected for weldability and abrasion resistance
- RF welded seams throughout the cylindrical body — no stitching in the waterproof shell
- Reinforced circular base takes ground contact and abrasion at the muzzle end
- Load-bearing points attached to welded reinforcement patches, not stitched through the shell
The full-width top opening folds flat and rolls down before the ends are clipped. Each fold compresses the opening further, so sealing pressure increases progressively rather than depending on a single seal line.
Three folds is the working specification. Below three the compression is insufficient to seal reliably; above three, additional folds increase sealing pressure and reduce internal length. That adjustability is what allows one 130 cm body to carry firearms from short air rifles up to 50 inch shotguns without leaving slack for the contents to shift.
- Three folds minimum before clipping — the specification the 60 L usable capacity assumes
- POM side-release buckles: corrosion-free in salt water, operable with gloves
- No zipper track anywhere on the product — nothing to clog with grit, corrode, or freeze
- Internal length adjusts by roll count rather than being fixed at manufacture
- Side compression straps stabilise the load once the closure is set
The SL-E302 is built to an IPX7 waterproof standard — the IEC 60529 classification for protection against immersion in one metre of water for thirty minutes. For a firearm carried through wetlands, across river crossings, or on an open boat deck, that is the rating that covers the realistic worst case: a bag that goes into the water and is recovered.
Two construction decisions carry that rating. The shell is RF welded rather than stitched, so there are no needle perforations anywhere in the waterproof body. The opening is closed by a three-fold roll-top under buckle tension, which seals by progressive compression rather than by a mechanism that can be clogged, corroded, or frozen.
| Construction Element | Contribution to IPX7 Performance |
| 840D TPU laminated shell | Non-porous barrier; resists hydrolysis and abrasion |
| RF welded seams | No stitch perforations; continuous sealed body |
| Three-fold roll-top | Progressive compression seal across the full opening width |
| POM side-release buckles | Hold roll tension under load; corrosion-free in salt water |
| Welded reinforcement patches | Carry points attached without piercing the sealed shell |
| Reinforced circular base | Resists the abrasion that would otherwise breach the shell |
The rating assumes the closure is correctly sealed. Below three folds the compression is insufficient, and debris trapped in the fold breaks the seal contact — both are user-correctable and both are covered on the instruction card supplied with the product.
The bag ships with all three carry configurations rather than a single fixed one, because a hunting trip changes shape: a short walk from a vehicle, a long approach on foot, and a boat transfer each favour a different mode.
| Mode | Hardware | Best For |
| Hand carry | Reinforced centre webbing handle | Loading, short moves, vehicle to boat |
| Shoulder carry | Adjustable removable shoulder strap | Short approaches, frequent transitions |
| Backpack carry | Dual shoulder straps | Long approaches, both hands free |
- Reinforced nylon webbing at all load-bearing points
- Shoulder strap removable for programmes that do not require it
- Side compression straps stabilise the load in every carry mode
- Straps stow flat when the bag is rolled down for storage

- Boat hunting and fishing
- Kayaking and rafting access
- ATV and snowmobile transport
- Camping and overlanding
- Mountain and forest hunting approaches
- River crossings and wet-ground movement
- Damp-environment firearm storage

Weld quality is controlled by three variables — power, pressure, and dwell time — set per fabric batch and verified by a destructive peel test at the start of every run. On a correctly welded sample the parent fabric tears before the seam separates; a seam that opens cleanly indicates under-welding and triggers a parameter review before production continues.

Project: Fabric Downgrade Study for a Volume Retail Programme
A distributor needed to hit a retail price point roughly 18% below our standard 840D TPU specification without moving to a visibly cheaper product. The temptation on both sides was to reduce fabric weight across the whole bag.
Instead we quoted three constructions against the same body pattern — 840D TPU, 420D TPU, and 500D PVC — and the distributor sampled all three. They selected 500D PVC for the volume line, accepting a weight increase from 1.35 kg to approximately 1.6 kg in exchange for the cost reduction, and retained 840D TPU for their premium SKU.
- Initial order: 1,200 pcs (900 pcs 500D PVC, 300 pcs 840D TPU)
- Customized features: Two fabric tiers from one pattern, Pantone-matched colourways, printed logo
- Sample lead time: 9 days for all three constructions
- Production lead time: 38 days
- Outcome: Two price tiers launched from a single tooling and pattern set; distributor reordered both tiers the following season
"Getting three fabric options sampled in nine days let us make the cost decision with the products in front of us rather than from a quotation."
— Purchasing Manager, Outdoor Distributor
