Two lengths are quoted because a roll-top case has no single figure: 155 cm as a flat sleeve and 137 cm once the mouth is rolled and clipped, with the 18 cm difference consumed by the closure. Specify against the recommended maximum firearm length of approximately 125–128 cm rather than either external figure. At 2 cm across, the slip leaves no room alongside the firearm for accessories.
At three folds each fold consumes approximately 6 cm; at four folds approximately 4.5 cm. Three folds is the specified minimum and the basis of the IPX7 rating. Width across the range: this slip at 2 cm, the welded flat case at 8 cm, the padded case at 6 cm and the roll-top tube at 25 cm diameter.

A Roll-Top Gun Slip has no single length figure. It is 155 cm as a flat sleeve and 137 cm once the mouth has been rolled and clipped, and the 18 cm between those two numbers is the material the closure uses to seal.
| State | Length | What It Represents |
| Unrolled | 155 cm | The flat sleeve, mouth open |
| Sealed at minimum folds | 137 cm | Working length with the closure made |
| Roll allowance | 18 cm | Material consumed by the roll — approximately 12% |
| Usable internal length | approx. 125–128 cm | After end forming and internal clearance |
At three folds each fold takes roughly 6 cm; at four folds roughly 4.5 cm. More folds seal harder and shorten the case further, which is the adjustment mechanism a roll-top gives and a zipper does not.
| The specification error to avoid:quoting 155 cm as the case length. That is the unrolled sleeve, not a usable dimension — a firearm cased at that length cannot be sealed. Specify against the recommended maximum of approximately 125–128 cm, and treat the 18 cm roll allowance as consumed before any firearm goes in. |
Flat-laid width is the dimension that decides where a case can live, and at 2 cm this is the slimmest product in our range by a clear margin.
| Model | Width or Depth | Construction |
| SL-P857 | 2 cm | Welded roll-top slip |
| SL-E602 | 3 cm | Stitched slimline slip |
| SL-P1076 | 6 cm | Stitched padded case |
| SL-E603 | 8 cm | Welded flat case |
| SL-C811 | 10 cm | Welded tactical case |
| SL-E302 | 25 cm diameter | Welded tube |
At a quarter the depth of the welded flat case and under a tenth of the tube's diameter, this slip goes into gaps the others cannot enter — between a seat and a bulkhead, flat under a mattress platform in a truck camper, inside a rifle rack sized for a bare gun, or slid behind other gear rather than stacked on top of it.
What 2 cm costs. Everything except the firearm. There is no room alongside the gun for ammunition, a cleaning kit, or an optic case, and no padding beyond the shell itself. This is a weather barrier in the slimmest form it can take.
Reverse, showing the clean welded back panel and the tapered profile
The Roll-Top Gun Slip is 26 cm high at the butt and 10 cm at the muzzle — a reduction of just over 60% along its length.
| Section | Height | What Occupies It |
| Butt end | 26 cm | Stock, comb, and receiver, with clearance for a mounted optic |
| Muzzle end | 10 cm | Barrel and fore-end only |
A rectangular slip sized to clear a 26 cm stock carries that height to the muzzle and encloses a volume the firearm never occupies. On a welded case that volume also has to be sealed, which means more material, more weld length, and more weight for nothing. The taper removes it.
The shell is 840D TPU laminated fabric joined by RF welding. There are no needle perforations anywhere in the waterproof body — panels are fused into a continuous section, and the pocket and strap anchors are welded rather than sewn through the barrier.
• RF welded seams throughout the shell; no stitching in the waterproof body
• Welded waterproof zippered pocket, sealed in its own right
• Strap anchors on welded reinforcement patches rather than stitched attachments
• Weld quality verified by destructive peel test at the start of every production run
On a correctly welded sample the parent fabric tears before the seam separates. A seam that opens cleanly indicates insufficient energy into the joint and triggers a parameter review before production continues.
The welded shell in wet conditions
Roll-top mouth rolled down and secured by the side-release buckle
The mouth folds flat and rolls down before a single side-release buckle draws the closure tight. Sealing pressure comes from compression across the folded band and increases with each fold, which is what carries the IPX7 rating.
1. Open the mouth to its full flattened width
2. Fold the mouth down and press it flat so both faces meet evenly across the whole width
3. Roll the folded section down three to four times, keeping the roll straight and free of debris
4. Clip the side-release buckle and draw the closure tight
5. Check the roll is even edge to edge with no bunching at either end
Three folds minimum. Below three folds the compression across the opening is insufficient to seal under immersion. Three is the specified minimum and the basis of the rating; four folds seal harder and shorten the case further.
Nothing to clog or freeze. There is no zipper track on the main closure, so grit, salt, and ice have nothing to work into. The buckle is corrosion-free and operable with gloves.
A single welded waterproof zippered pocket sits on the outer face. Because it is welded to the shell rather than sewn onto it, the pocket is sealed in its own right and does not create a path into the main compartment — the item a user wants reachable without unrolling the whole closure.
The pocket zipper is the one component on this slip that asks something back. Rinse the track with fresh water after sandy, muddy, or salt exposure, running the slider while rinsing so debris clears from between the sealing faces.
Swivel hook to welded D-ring anchor
The shoulder strap detaches entirely at both ends through swivel hooks clipped to welded D-ring anchors, so the slip stores at its full 2 cm profile with no hardware standing proud.
| Element | Detail |
| Shoulder strap | Padded section at the shoulder; fully adjustable |
| Attachment | Swivel hooks to welded D-ring anchors at both ends |
| Detachable | Yes, at both ends |
| Anchor construction | Welded reinforcement patches, not stitched |
| Carried load | approx. 4.95 kg with a 4 kg rifle, on one shoulder |
Swivel hooks matter more on a slim case than a wide one. A narrow body rotates easily under load, and a swivel lets the strap follow that rotation instead of twisting against the anchor.

The SL-P857 is the immersion-rated case for buyers who have no space. It gives up capacity, padding, and accessory room to reach 2 cm, and it keeps the welded shell and roll-top closure that carry the rating.
Vehicle and rack storage where depth is the constraint; boat lockers and under-gunwale spaces too shallow for a tube; walk-in hunting where a slim profile does not catch on brush; wet-weather transport between vehicle and stand; travel and camper storage where a case must slide flat behind other gear; and as a second case for owners who already have a padded or tactical case and need a slim weather barrier as well.

The requirement was a waterproof case that would lie flat under a camper mattress platform with roughly 3 cm of clearance. Nothing immersion rated fitted until this one. We confirmed the loaded thickness against their platform during sampling rather than working from the stated figure. 300 pcs, 42 days.
Clients already carried padded cases and wanted a slim weather barrier for the wet sections of a trip, not a replacement. The 2 cm slip stows alongside a padded case rather than instead of it, and the operation sold it as an add-on rather than an alternative. 400 pcs, 41 days.
The distributor had quoted 155 cm to its customers as the case length, which produced returns from buyers whose rifles fitted the sleeve but could not be sealed inside it. We supplied the roll allowance figure and the recommended maximum firearm length in writing, and the listing was rewritten around 125–128 cm. 350 pcs, 40 days.
“Three centimetres of clearance under the platform. Everything else waterproof was too thick, and this went in flat.”
— Product Lead, Truck Camper Outfitter
“It sells alongside the padded case, not against it. Two cases, two jobs, and customers understood that immediately.”
— Owner, Guided Operation
“We were quoting the open length. Once you explained the eighteen centimetres, the returns stopped.”
— Category Buyer, Distributor
Because a roll-top case has no single length. It is 155 cm as a flat sleeve and 137 cm once sealed, and the 18 cm between them is the material the closure uses. Quoting 155 cm to a customer is the most common specification error on roll-top products.
Approximately 125–128 cm, or 49–50 in overall. That figure allows for the roll and for end forming, and it is the number to specify against rather than either external length.
Three minimum. Below three the compression across the opening is insufficient under immersion. At three folds each fold takes roughly 6 cm; four folds seal harder and shorten the case further.
2 cm — a quarter the depth of our welded flat case and under a tenth of the tube's diameter. It goes into gaps nothing else immersion rated will enter: behind a seat, under a camper platform, into a rack sized for a bare gun.
Everything except the firearm. There is no room alongside the gun for ammunition, a cleaning kit, or an optic case, and no padding beyond the shell. This is a weather barrier in the slimmest form it can take.
No. Padding would defeat the width that the product exists for. Customers needing impact protection should use our padded range; this slip is specified for weather and abrasion.
IPX7 under IEC 60529 — immersion in one metre of water for thirty minutes. It comes from the welded shell, which has no stitch perforations, together with the three-fold roll-top closure.
No. It is welded to the shell rather than sewn onto it and is sealed in its own right, verified by filling the pocket and immersing the case. The pocket zipper does need rinsing with the slider run through after sandy or salt exposure.
Sealed with a retained air pocket a roll-top case has positive buoyancy, but at 2 cm the enclosed air volume is small, so buoyancy margin is far lower than on our 60 L tube. Customers whose primary requirement is flotation should use the tube.
A narrow body rotates easily under load, and a swivel lets the strap follow that rotation instead of twisting against the anchor. Both ends detach, so the slip stores at its full 2 cm profile.
Yes. There is no zipper track on the main closure for grit, salt, or ice to work into, and the shell and closure stayed pliable after twelve hours at -20 °C. The buckle is operable with gloves.
MOQ 300 pcs, samples in 7–10 days, production in 30–45 days, quoted EXW, FOB, or CIF. OEM and ODM development covers length, taper, width, shell material, colour, pocket configuration, hardware, and packaging.
